What does immigration reform have to do with building a sustainable society—and what does the UAE’s ‘Golden Visa’ mean for the future? This panel of prestigious speakers will shed light on how the UAE plans to build a sustainable society by attracting and retaining talented individuals, and why creatives are critical to the nation’s plans to build a prosperous future for generations to come.

HE Hala Badri is Director General of Dubai Culture, where she aims to develop Dubai as an incubator of creativity. She will discuss the ways in which Dubai is promoting the arts and what this means for the city and the rest of the UAE. HE Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, will share his insights into the “Golden Card” for residency in the UAE, and how it is contributing to promoting the values of cultural and social pluralism.

Simultaneous Translation is available for this session. Festival attendees can access simultaneous translation via a QR code shared on site by using their own personal headphones and smartphone.
