We love hearing how the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature has positively impacted you so introducing The LitFest Generation series, written by you! To kick it off, Asma Baqer, from Mawaheb, has written a post on how the LitFest has affected her. Read on…

My experience at this year’s Emirates Litfest was, what I would call, life changing! It took a lot of courage to stand up and ask Nujeen Mustafa a question: “ Hello I’m an artist at Mawaheb, an art studio for people with determination. I loved reading and writing all my life, and I’ve written a book that hasn’t been published yet. What should I do?” Nujeen encouraged me to stay positive and confident and continue  trying to get my book published. Just after my conversation with her, I was approached by Hayat Herzi, a reporter with Emirates Today for an interview. My story was featured in an article in the newspaper. Just a few days after I got a life changing message from Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi and the Kalimat Group who expressed interest in publishing my story. I am thrilled by this opportunity, and hopeful that my story will be published soon. Thank you LitFest!
