Want to know more about the team behind the ِ#EmiratesLitFest? We are kicking off on our new Meet the Team series with Tamreez Inam who is our Education Relationship Manager and of course a fellow bookworm so we had to ask her some bookish questions.

What book has made an impact on you and why?
Aged 14, Bapsi Sidhwa’s An American Brat was the first book in English by a Pakistani writer I ever read. It may not be her best work, but for the first time in my life I felt represented in a book and that’s a powerful thing.

What is your favourite quote and why?
“Happy families are all alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way”. I’m fascinated by family dramas – and even if the quote is factually incorrect, it intrigued me.

Who is your favourite literary character and why?
Growing up it was Anne Shirley from Anne of Green Gables. She was so real in my imagination that I longed to be able to meet her. One of the recent literary characters I felt a lot of affection for was Eleanor Oliphant ( from Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine).

Do you read more than one book at a time?
Yes. Usually one fiction, one non-fiction and one audiobook at a time.

Do you dog-ear pages or use a bookmark?

Audio books or physically reading?

How many books do you currently have in your To Be Read pile?
More than I can count  (please insert the covering eyes emoji ..lol)
