Saud Alsanousi is a Kuwaiti journalist and novelist, winner of the International Prize for Arabic Fiction 2013 for his novel The Bamboo Stalk which was adapted into a TV series in 2016.
In 2010, his debut novel The Prisoner of Mirrors won the Leila Othman Prize. His short story, The Bonsai and the Old Man won a competition organized by Al-Arabi magazine and BBC Arabic and his novel Grandma Hessa’s Mice reached the longlist for The Sheikh Zayed Book Award 2016. He has also written Birds of the House.
His works have been translated into English, Italian, Turkish, Persian, Romanian, Korean and Chinese.
