Nafea Alyasi is a doctor and writer from the United Arab Emirates. He holds a BA in general surgery from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences – UAE University, and the Arab Board in Paediatrics. He works as a paediatric gastroenterologist in Sheikh Khalifa Medical City and is one of the medical care officials for isolation patients infected with Covid-19.
Nafea’s first two novels, Unforgotten Patient and Critical Case, were inspired by his work as a doctor and his patients’ experiences. Search for Life was based on a true story. His latest novel, Marburg, was published in 2020.
As well as writing, Nafea is a social media activist, promoting health education and giving lectures on paediatric health promotion through social media platforms.
