Syrian novelist and screenwriter Maria Dadouch has published more than 45 books for children and young adults. She recently won the Katara Prize for novels 2018 for her young adult novel The Planet of Uncertainties, and the Shoman Award for her science fiction novel I Want Golden Eyes.
Maria studied creative writing at the University of Los Angeles with a focus on novels and children’s literature and graduated with a degree in creative writing and fiction. She teaches creative writing workshops for children and young adults and her courses area available on Edraak’s global platform.
She launched the Fulla magazine for teenagers and published hundreds of articles, and wrote episodes for the widely famous Arabic comedy series Maraya.
