Lewis Hyde

Lewis Hyde is a poet, essayist, translator and cultural critic.

Hyde is the author of modern classics such as The Gift and Trickster Makes This World. His upcoming book, which will be released in 2019, Forgetting Notebooks is an exploration of the situation where forgetfulness is more useful than memory. Hyde is also a MacArthur Fellow, former director of undergraduate creative writing at Harvard University and for many years the Thomas Professor of Creative Writing at Kenyon College.
