Kirun Kapur

Kirun Kapur is the winner of the Antivenom Poetry Award for her first book, Visiting Indira Gandhi’s Palmist.

Her work has appeared in several publications worldwide. She has been awarded fellowships from The Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Vermont Studio Center and MacDowell Colony. Additional honours include the Arts & Letters Rumi Prize in Poetry, the Nazim Hikmet Prize and a Glenna Luschei award.

She is the director of the New England arts programme, The Tannery Series, and serves as Poetry Editor at The Drum Literary Magazine. She is currently a visiting writer at Amherst College.

In 2015, NBC News named her one of the Asian-American Poets to Watch.

Kapur lives north of Boston.
