Award-winning jazz musician and songwriter Chris Read has written and performed original music from Montreux Jazz Festival to the Edinburgh Fringe. He formed his first band aged 13, became the London Underground’s youngest-ever licensed busker at 17, wrote (rejected) songs for One Direction at 19, then wandered through a jazz-club wilderness for a few years before reuniting with childhood best friend Harry Baker to form “Harry and Chris”. The world’s first comedy-rap-jazz duo, they’ve appeared on TV and performed two TEDx talks. Chris has since released a debut jazz album, has a musical TV show in development and is debuting his first solo show at the Edinburgh Fringe.
