Chris Gardner is a businessman, motivational speaker and philanthropist.
Chris is the author of the 2006 autobiography, The Pursuit of Happyness, which was a New York Times and Washington Post #1 bestseller that has been translated into over 40 languages and was turned in to a major motion picture starring Will Smith. Chris then released his second bestselling book, Start Where You Are: Life Lessons in Getting from Where You Are to Where You want to Be.
In the fall of 2010, Chris was named the Ambassador of Pursuit and Happyness for AARP, which has nearly 40 million members worldwide. Despite his tough childhood and a period of homelessness in San Francisco, he climbed the financial industry ladder and he went on to become the CEO of his own stockbrokerage firm, Gardner Rich & Co, before selling his share to found Christopher Gardner International Holdings.
He has spoken in over 50 countries and travels all over the world as a motivational speaker, dedicated to organizations that combat violence against women, homelessness, financial literacy and providing access to medical care and treatment.
