Kate Lord Brown grew up in Devon. She has worked as an art consultant, curating collections for palaces and embassies across the world. She and her family have lived across the UK, in Spain and for the last two years they have settled in Qatar where her husband works as a pilot. There she began a new life in a very different culture, raises her two children, completed an MA in Creative Writing and completed and published her debut novel The Beauty Chorus (2011).
In 2009 she was a runner up of ITV’s The People’s Author competition with Alan Titchmarsh. One of the judges was Marian Keyes who said – ‘I thought it was incredible… so incredibly atmospheric. On a sentence by sentence basis you’re like a poet.
